Camp Reflection 2016

Camp Reflection

On camp we walked from the top ten holiday park to the glacier car park and we stopped there and ate our morning tea. When we finished our lunch we got back in our groups and started walking the glacier track, when we got to the to we stopped and had our lunch.  Then when we finished our lunch we got a photo of us all waving to the Miss Hines who was taking the photo.  After that we walked back down the hill and on dirt track and then finally down the road at top ten holiday park when we got there we sat down for about an hour.

After that hour resting we did the geocaching and our group took the wrong track so we had to go through the bush, and about half way through the bush a dog ran out of a whole under a tree and then everybody in my group started calling it bush dog and then it started following all the groups around when we were doing the geocaching.  My group was the third group back, there was six groups all up.

On the day we went up we went to Lake Mapourika, we went swimming there and we jumped off the jetty, it was fun, when we were jumping off the jetty there was something that smelt and at the end when everybody got out Nikau stood on something and he tried grabbing it and he got it and he lifted it up out of the water and it was an old sheep skull, Miss Hines saw him holding it and she told him to throw it away.

The day we left the top ten we went to Lake Matheson we did the walk. When we got to the jetty we saw two people getting photos. One was in a really long drees and the man was in a suit and they were getting wedding photos, so we kept on walking and then we turned around about 3 minutes after the jetty and went back. The people were still there, we went down there and had a look at the lake we could see a reflection of the mountains and the trees and then if we looked down at the lake we could see our own reflections.  From the jetty we could see Mt Cook.

Then when we left the lake we went about 5ks south of the lake to see the glacier and it was a really great view of it, we could not see that part of the glacier when we were doing the walk.

On the way back to school we all stopped at the tree top walk there was 11 stop’s, stop 1 was on the gravel track, stop 1,2,3,4 were all on the first bit on the walk, then stop 5 was below number six it was about 106 steps up it was really high up, we were higher than some really tall tree.

When we were heading back to Greymouth we stopped at Hari Hari again and there was a ramp that we were running up, that was really fun, it started raining though so we got our lunch which was rolls, orange there was bananas and apples, then we had finished our food there was biscuits three different
types also there was Moros And Moro Gold’s.
