Topic

This week for topic we have been researched a explorer, my buddy was Callum, we researched Francisco Pizarro. I found some of this easy and some hard.

Numeracy

This week for numeracy we have been continuing with our area and perimeter, we also started our problem solving again. We also went on studdyladder and did area and perimeter on that.  I found this hard, I don't really like doing area and perimeter.

 

Literacy Reflection T3 W9

Literacy

This week for literacy we had about 4 follow ups. For writing we had to complete 2 activity's about mummies, there was one activity about the embalming and wrapping, I did wrapping and my buddy Nikau did the embalming, the other one was objects.  We also did literacy elements, we had to make examples for each literacy element. I found this fun and a bit hard. 

CYBER SMART

     Always cheek your resources twice. We have been reaching a explorer, and there was 2 websites and one of the websites said that there was something about the person and the other website was about the same thing but with a different answer.

Just Annoying

Just annoying is a book with 9 different story's in it and it say's that there is 638 annoying pictures. All the story's are really funny, my favorite one is called are we there yet.  Someone called Andy keeps saying to his dad ARE WE THERE YET, and then his dad gets really angry and he makes him get out of the car. Then someone on a motorbike comes and picks him up, and drives him to his dads car and he jump onto the roof and he jumps in.

Big Day Out Reflection

Big Day Out

For the big day out this year we did the same things, they are a Movie, Fun games and swimming. My favorite was probably Movie or the fun games.

Movie

This year the movie for the big day out was Pete's Dragon.  I loved this movie but the start of it is a bit sad when his Mum and Dad die in a car accident. There was lots of girls cried during the movie. I really like this movie, I would like to see it again.

Fun Games

This year we went to the new Recreation Centre. The games were Football, Cricket, Badminton and Basketball. We won all our games. We won Football 3-0 and I scored a goal we won cricket 28 runs to 16 runs I got 3 runs, we won basketball 10-4 I got 1 goal and badminton was not a competition, I was really bad at badminton.

Swimming

We also went swimming  for our big day out. We were aloud to go down the hydro slide. I liked it. When we were in the pool we were annoying the girls by stealing there ball, at the end we got the ball taken of us so we went and played tag in the deep pool.

Numeracy

This week for numeracy we did Area and Perimeter, I'm group 4, my group has finished 4 tasks.  These are our last two tasks that we have. I found doing the area hard because I don't know how to do it properly.

Literacy

For literacy this week one of our follow ups was to make a word cloud about a book. I chose to do Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Another follow up was to research something really famous in a country, I chose to do Mt Fuji which is in Japan. We used a website called Street View Treks Mt Fuji
This week we also did an explanation burger, in the explanation burger there is a Title, Intro, 3 main points and a conclusion, the article was why is there 7 days in a week. We also did something new called earth-picker, on earth-picker we spawn somewhere in the world and we went and tried to find out clues and then we went on google maps to find out were it is. We are doing earth picker for our be an explorer task.

Literacy.

This week for literacy we did our reading and writing. For our reading follow up we did a coggle.it about our favorite book, we also read a book called A Wife for Te Ra. We had to put what we thought it was about in the right text box. For writing we did our explorers. We had to highlight things in the right color and then write bullet points, and the next step is to write a summery.

Visual Mihi

For interchange this term one of the tasks was a mihi, we did it in Maori. In our mihi we had we put stuff like our name, last name, and our parents and more.

For the last few weeks we have been doing a news report on the Olympics, it didn't have to be true. We worked with a buddy, my buddy was Franklin.  We choose to do it about the New Zealand men´s rugby 7s team how Sonny Bill and Joe Webber got injured.

Dirty Bertie Toothy

This book is about Bertie being scared to go to the dentist because Bertie thought that his dentist was going to murder him. He had a mask over his face, he also had the sharp tools for peoples teeth. What the blurb says. This week we started a new topic. Our new topic is how to be and explorer. We did 5 reasons why people explore.  We also did a padlet about what a explorer is.

This week for literacy we read a book and then we had to write stuff about the book like what genre it was and what the problems were. I found this easy.  We also did an intro of a story, we had to a household item and I choose a toaster. I found this easy.

This week Miss Panther introduced a new website that someone she new made. It is called MAMAKU MATHS HUB.  On our Mamaku Maths Hub there is lots of  different activity's like decimals and fractions.  We also did fractions here mine are.

Climbing Mount Sugarbin.

Climbing Mount Sugarbin is a book about a boy who really likes cars and doing maniacal stuff. His mum was mowing the lawn one day and the lawn mower broke and then his mum asked Nathan to come and fix it but he could not because it was broken for good.  So he made it into a car and the motor didn't work and Nathans uncle came down on a motorbike and it didn't go very well so his uncle gave Nathan the motor for the mower. Then Nathan entered the car into the Mount Sugarbin hill climb and he did it, he may of came last but he didn't care.
